I can sit...sort of!

Isabelle gets the hiccups a lot and really isnt a fan of them.This morning she liked to sit up in the corner of the couch and look at books while I read to her, she didn't seem to mind her hiccups as much. Our baby is growing up too fast already!!

My little model!

Isabelle is my new model for my designs! Here she is sporting an "I shirt" I made her before she was born! This is going to be a dangerous summer. I already have a few too many outfits and designs I want to try out for her and we just bought some fabric the other day! Thankfully with this heat, she'll live in onesies, so I can come up with some fun designs and she can wear her onesies around all day! :)

 

So she doesn't feel forgotten, I have to post about sister Stella! She is jealous and confused once again! Isabelle received a stuffed animal owl from one of my students, so I put it on her bookshelf. This morning as Izzy and I were playing with her favorite Emily doll that makes crunchy noises, squeaks, rattles, etc. Stella came running into the room thinking we had one of her toys and were going to play with her. When she sadly realized it was for Isabelle, she started whining and I turned around to see that she found the new toy owl on the bookshelf! She got on two legs and was trying to see if she could pull it down on her own, when that didn't work, she tried the stare down/patiently waiting for mommy to help approach, she was sad when neither worked! Poor Stella!

Izzy loves summer!

Isabelle is loving summer and trying on all of her new outfits. She also loves going on a lot of walks. We are enjoying a mellow day at home today after our busy day yesterday meeting mommy's students. We are back to say our goodbyes to them again tomorrow, so we are enjoying our day off!

Long Post...

We had an exciting weekend! Isabelle met her Uncle Chris, who stayed with us for the weekend. We grilled a lot, sat outside, went on lots of walks, went to the Edina Art Fair, and enjoyed the fact that it finally feels like spring/summer is here in MN!

 

Isabelle realized it is so tiring being so cute and having to dress up all the time. She doesn't mind her sun hat, which is good since it has been super sunny here!

Isabelle and Stella are starting to become friends, and by friends, I mean Stella will sniff her a little more than usual, but still keeps her distance. I think they'll become good friends, especially once Isabelle starts dropping food for Stella. :) Stella is always keeping an eye out for Isabelle and Isabelle is starting to notice more things around her, so she watches Stella, it is pretty cute!

Isabelle got an "Emily doll" from the Reigels, it makes noises and is very colorful. She had fun this morning following it around as I held it up. As you can see, Stella looks a little jealous of the toy and thinks it should be hers. She has been great about once it has Isabelle's scent on it, not to take it. Hopefully that continues!

I entered Isabelle in a photo contest because as Pat said, "that's what good mom's do!" haha I just thought it would be fun, while I entered three pictures, but they chose the one that I didn't think was as cute as the others, but it is still adorable of course. Play Mat

Isabelle is finally becoming more alert and aware of her surroundings, so we set up her activity gym last night, she loves to look around it. She gets all cross-eyed when she focuses too long, it is pretty funny. Izzy decided this morning at 5am that she wasn't going back to bed after she ate and wanted to look around, so I put her on her activity gym and played with her.

However, Isabelle decided to fall asleep on the gym and every time I went to pick her up, she'd get fussy. So what is a mom to do? Improvise, I put on some lullaby music, made myself comfortable, and we both slept for a little bit! Daddy found us on the carpet downstairs when he woke up and took a picture.

Stella is slowly warming up to Isabelle, when she is on the floor, she will sneak a sniff in for a few minutes. As soon as Isabelle moves, Stella bolts! Stella thinks the toys on the activity gym are for her, she is slowly realizing nothing is for her anymore, poor girl!
