Day Two

Today was day two of work and Camp Nana. Izzy had another wonderful day and even got to visit with Grammie! The days go fast thankfully and Izzy has been a sleeping machine, which has made it easier for me knowing I am not missing too much while away. Again, without my parents, there is no way I could possibly have gone back to work, we are so lucky!!

As I reflect on the last two days, I realize a few things:
1. People DO NOT give working mothers enough credit....holy cow it is tiring waking up early and not getting naps. And it is SO hard being awau from your little one all day!

2. Pumping at work is so not fun and very time consuming, but SO worth it.

3. It really is easier to run errands midday when most are at work. Target after work with a baby is just plain crazy. Oh how I miss feeling like a rebel playing hookie from work on our midday Target runs! Now I suffer with the rest of the world who need a few things, but it takes an hour between parking and the check out.

4. I took my afternoon naps for granted during pregnancy. I am trying to get adjusted to my school schedule, but realized there is no time for naps when you have kids. However, it is the best feeling in the world when I am exhausted and had a bad day and one smile from Izzy and it is all forgotten, it is the best!!

5. I miss always having Izzy with me. I find myself looking in my mirror for her, listening to her cd, or feeling like I am missing something.

6. There is nothing better than the feeling I get when I can race out of work to go pick her up and the feeling I get when I first see her. Scratch that, there is nothing better than being bored in meetings and getting a picture text from my mom of Izzy smiling. I cannot say how amazing it is and how much it puts me at ease knowing she is happy and in such good hands all day!

Kitchen helpers!

Izzy and Stella sat on the floor next to me and helped me in the kitchen tonight. Stella helped clean up messes while Izzy entertained me. Izzy and I made banana bread together, I talked her through the steps, she is bound to be a baker.

First day of camp Nana went really well. Izzy had a great time and even got cousin time. I, of course, was a wreck this morning, balling uncontrollably. I knew she would have a great time with Nana, I just knew I would miss her. Thankfully I got done early and rushed out the door to go and see her. A special thanks to my parents for watching her for us, I would have quit my job if I had to put her in daycare! It is so nice knowing she is with them being loved all day.

Bonus Giggles 2

A few hours later and she finally figured out how to get a belly laugh out! Best part, I filmed her doing it and then replayed it for her and she started giggling even harder, which is where this video came into play. I went from laughing hysterically with her to tears thinking about missing moments like this while at work....Get over it, Tiffany, I know! I will have afternoons, evenings, weekends, holidays, and summers, I will get the best of both worlds!

Starting to Giggle

I love our girl so much!! She gets more amazing each day! I am so sad to have to go back to work, but will so look forward to when 3pm hits and I can race to Nana and Papa's house to see her again and be greeted with her big smiles! She has started to figure out how to giggle, she gives us a little more each day. She also rolled over on Tuesday, that video will come tomorrow! I am hoping I can keep up with this blog when I go back to work, that is the goal! :)

Jumperoo

Izzy is still a little too small for her jumperoo, but I put her in it just to see what she thought of it with some blankets to prop her up. She loved it and loved eating the seat too. I cant wait until she is big enough for it, I know she will love it even more.

Full circle

Izzy and I had visitors. I used to nanny for Elizabeth and Hannah for eleven years and they are now watching the family that I watched for two summers before Izzy. It was so fun to catch up and see them all. It did make me feel a little old though. :)

Just like her momma!

Izzy realized it is much easier to suck her two fingers instead of her thumb, just like I used to do as a baby. She also helped me in my classroom last night and today. She doesn't want to miss a moment with her mom before she goes back to work next week. :(

Cutie!

Izzy is so happy, even after two shots and teething trouble this week. We tried on her flower hat today, she thought it was funny! We get to have Sally today and overnight, Izzy is very excited. We are off to the zoo!

Relaxing

Izzy and I are enjoying our last days of summer together, tear, tear! We ran some errands, went to the park with some work friends, and now we are off to get some more shots at the doctor. :( As always, Izzy is smiling and happy, making it even harder on Mommy to go back to work.

Our babysitter, Stella

Now that Izzy is teething and a little more fussy, Stella is watching over her even more! She was downstairs and came running up when she heard her fussing in her bounchy chair and laid by her side. Izzy has become snuggly with her blankets and loves sucking get thumbs.

3 months old!

Our little girl is already three months old, sniff, sniff. :( She is growing up so quickly. It amazes me looking back over the course of only one month and seeing how much has changed. We love her more and more each day! She did a great job this morning during our photo shoot, even though her teeth were killing her. As you can tell, it was hard to get a picture where her hands weren't in her mouth or close to it. Happy 3 months baby girl, we love you! She gets to celebrate tonight by going to Jackie and Reid's house to play with Sally while we go out to dinner for my birthday.

Here are some things she can do now:
* Izzy can hold her head up for a long period of time and likes to do the head bob/hover when you hold her up on your shoulder.
*She sleeps a minimum of 7 hours a night, now she is starting to sleep anywhere from 8-10 hours!
*She is a smiling machine and smiles when daddy and mommy walk into a room or when she hears our voices.
*She can finally suck her thumb, she loves it!
*She is getting her first tooth on the bottom, ouch!
*If you put something in her hand, she'll grab it and now due to teething, usually puts it in her mouth.
*She is getting closer and closer to giggling and starts to cough when she tries.
*Her arms and legs go crazy when she is super excited or stimulated by something, you have to be careful when she is on your lap, she almost jumps right off.
*She can sit up on a couch with pillows, but if she gets too excited, she'll try to eat her toes and fall forward.
*She notices Stella and likes to smile when she walks by.
*She ALWAYS has to be facing out when you hold her, she is so nosey and gets mad when she can't see what everyone else is doing.
*She thinks she is a big girl and no longer wants you to swaddle her with her hands in, she likes to chew on them now.
*If you put a small blanket across her stomach, she'll hug it and cuddle with it, then suck her thumb or the blanket. :)

Teething control

Izzy was holding on tight to her Sophie the Giraffe toy so she would have it for teething relief! She is sad to see our vacation come to an end, but had a blast with everyone!

Nana and her girls

I made Katelyn and Isabelle matching outfits and we had a little photoshoot. We also got some cute photos of Nana and her girls!,Poor Isabelle is teething and not her happy self these days, her bottom tooth is poking through, ouch! She wasnt smiley in the pictures like normal. We decided to prolong our vacation and our fun for a few more days and are leaving here early Monday morning! I am avoiding the reality of going back to work in two weeks and am extending our cabin time as long as daddy's schedule permits. :) We are just getting Nana and Papa trained in on Izzy's schedule and cues for when I have to go back to work.

Pukers

The pictures were taken just before the video. Izzy was happy and talking so I decided to take a video of her chatting, but it seems she was brewing something with all that talking. :) Looks like someone ate a little too much.
