Family fun day

We have had a busy and fun day so far. We went to the Farmers market and the pool and our neighbors are coming over for a BBQ later with their kids. Izzy had so much fun at the pool and even tried to lean onto a little boy and kiss him. Days like today make us grateful for the beautiful summer weather and weekends. I cannot believe June is over, seriously summer slow down!

Feeling better

It is amazing how izzy went from feeling terrible for five days straight to ready to run a marathon on day six. She is making up for lost time I guess! We are so thankful that she is feeling better, now we just need her to eat more. With her eye teeth and molars coming in at the same time, she isn't a fan of eating much these days. I have to trick her and be sneaky to get her to consume more calories and fat by putting her yogurt in her milk each day.

Izzy and I had a fun morning together. We cleaned the house, Izzy learned how to push the vacuum around, but isn't so sure about doing it when it is turned on. Baby steps, we will get there. :) We also went to the pool for awhile before nap. She loves it there and LOVeS to try to steal other kids' toys and gets really upset when I tell her no. Nobody warned me about the terrible thirteen month. :) Izzy is exercising her independence these days and is not a fan when mommy steps in and says no. She arches her back and cries. Meanwhile, I sit back and try not to laugh and praise Stella for being a good puppy, that usually makes Izzy snap right out of it. :)

Miss Inquisitive wasn't so sure about finger-paint yesterday. She wanted to eat it and wasn't okay with me telling her no. She would paint when I would say splash, but then we both ended up with paint everywhere. All in all, I think she found it to be a little fun, until the end when I tried to assist her by moving her hands around, then she had, had enough.

Feeling better?

Izzy woke up with a low fever of 100.6. It went down right away and we are hoping it will stay down. She broke out in a rash last night which the doctor warned us about. The doctor emailed us and told us if it goes above 101 today to go in, so we are hoping the worst is behind us. However, I think thanks to Papa and Nana, Izzy is feeling much better since she got her first Beamer! Izzy had to have a BMW just like Nana. :) Izzy loves to honk her BMW horn. Hopefully she realizes this is the only BMW she will own, unless she buys it herself when she is older. :)

She must be feeling better because someone was suppose to be napping and instead, decided to be liberated by taking off her diaper and essentially laying in her pee, gross! Last time we let her cool down and nap without her sleep sack or a onesie on! She seemed pretty proud of herself and loved doing laps naked in her empty crib.

My New Beamer!
Being Naked is so liberating! :)

Riding on my new fancy car!
It makes for good teething relief too.
My nasty rash.

I am afraid I might break it!
This is how we found here, notice her diaper on her blanket on the left. GROSS! We immediately took a bath after this adventure.
It is really mine, AWESOME, thanks Papa and Nana!

Still sick

Poor Izzy still has a fever of 101.6 today. :( She is trying hard to be herself and play, but after a few minutes gets fussy and wants to be held. Thanks to pinterest, I found something to distract her for a little while, cloud sand. It is so cool. Just flour and baby oil. I put it in a Tupperware container with her sand toys so we can store it and reuse it. She thought it was pretty fun and had to try to eat it of course. Stella really wanted to eat it too. It is pretty neat because you can mold it. We will be playing with it a lot I am sure! She actually ate her lunch And we have kept her fever down for awhile so we are crossing our fingers!

Sick little Izzy

We have a sick little girl on our hands. Izzy was a trooper all weekend long and made it hard for us to realize she wasn't feeling so great. When we were at the Zoo, she spiked a fever. It wasn't until we got home that we realized it was 101.7! It got up to 102 later in the night and we were up quite a bit with her pushing fluids and medicine. Yesterday she woke up and had a slight fever, we gave her some medicine and put her down for a nap. She slept for 3.5 hours! She woke up happy and back to normal so we went to the pool and met up with my sisters at a friend's pool. We figured it was teething since her eye teeth are peekig through. Izzy wasn't fully herself and just seemed tired but was still enjoying herself. She had so much fun she fell asleep in the car. When we got home she got hot again and her temp was back! This morning it was 100.7, so we went to the doctor to check it out.

Poor Izzy had to get a strep test and her finger poked. The doctor said she is getting her molars and her eye teeth at the same time! That explains why she has been a fussy eater. The strep test came back negative so far and her blood count was slightly off showing signs of a virus. Rest, fluids, and Motrin should get us through and If not, we have to go back on Wednesday for further tests. Her fever has already gone down since this morning so hopefully she is on the mend!

The Zoo!

We went to the zoo today! It was the perfect day since it was overcast and not hot like it has been recently. Izzy spiked a fever this morning and it seemed to return when we were there, but she was in good spirits, just a little tired. Her favorites were the penguins and the monkeys. It was a great family day!

Pool time

Izzy and I went to the pool this morning and had so much fun! We just might go back later with daddy. I think I know where you can find us all summer! Izzy was all smiles and giggling as I'd help her "swim". She inhaled her lunch watching other kids swim, even with her eye teeth coming in! Needless to say, she was very ready for her nap when we got home!

Izzy talks all the time and has started to say more words like "Nigh-nigh" when she I tired, yes and shakes her head yes, and today, unprompted she grabbed a ball and said ball!

Pinspiration

We are on day 2 of taking only one nap, which means mommy has to be creative on how to keep Izzy busy and awake long enough. This morning I tried out a few pinterest favorites for toddlers. I started with some paint in a ziplock and taped it to the backdoor so she could play with it, leave it to mini Pat (aka Izzy) to try an figure out how it works and how to get it off the window before playing with it. Then, I made some thicker "paint" for finger painting out of flour, water, and food coloring. Izzy was hilarious with it. She would try to walk through it and would fall, painting more of her onesie than the paper. She tried to eat it too, but didn't like it. We had fun! We took a long walk and a swing ride in the front yard before lunch and nap. I can't wait to see what we will do when she wakes up, maybe go to the pool! I LOVE being home with her all summer! There is also a video of Izzy's new thing, she loves to give Stella kisses and to walk around with a purse! )
