Busy

Now that I am feeling better, we have been trying to actually enjoy summer! It is much harder getting out the door with two under two, but it makes us all much happier when we get out for the day. Way less whining and timeouts. We went to the splash pad Monday, Izzy went to daycare Tuesday so Bobby and I cleaned, organized, and ran errands, yesterday we went to library storytime with Anna and Evan, and today we went to the splash pad and crashed the Craigmiles play date with another family. Izzy is all smiles, eats her food, and takes good naps when we have things planned, so it is worth the craziness of getting out the door and praying Bobby sleeps and stays on schedule before we get home.

It is gorgeous today and I have Cooking Club, so Izzy and Oat went to the pool. I got a text telling me she won't sit still and has been down the slide at least 66 times with Pat. I am so jealous I can't be there to see her smiling and having fun, but it is too hot for Bobby today. I think Izzy is going to love Pat more now since they get to do fun things together! It has been quiet and nice to just sit and enjoy Bobby since I don't get to do that often with Izzy requesting my attention so much. He is such a laid back little fellow, I think he has to be with his sister.

Bobby and I picked Izzy up from daycare Tuesday, she was so excited to see us when we got there and had to give Bobby a kiss right away.

Deb, our daycare lady, got Izzy a sister book and Dora lawn chair. Izzy was so excited!

We had pictures yesterday. Here is my peanut gallery as I got ready. My how life has changed. :)

Izzy feeding Evan a snack at story time.

I snapped a few photos from behind during our photoshoot. Izzy was being a two year old, but our photographer promised she got some good ones despite Izzy's lack of cooperation.

It is amazing the positions she can get him into! Two weeks until we get to see them all!
I swingin mommy!

We didnt make it to the splash pad, just the park, but IZzy had a blast!

She asked to hold Bobby and gets mad if I try to hold him. Then, she told me to take a picture and she kissed him. Where was this cooperation at our photoshoot?

Big girl pants have been purchased, a new potty for the big potty...we will try for potty training boot camp next week maybe when Daddy is home for the 4th! She seems ready and doesn't like wet diapers and tells you as she is going, so we shall see. Two in diapers is a lot of work, but I think it may be harder to do our fun things this summer with her needing to go potty and fast! :)

Bobby is all ready for cooking club!

Crazy weekend

Well it was a crazy weekend with mastitis, but I am so very thankful to have such a caring husband who forced me to stay in bed and waited on. I am finally getting better! Whoa, I was knocked out hard with what felt like H1N1 all over again! Our power went out Friday night due to bad storms, which meant that our bed became our family bed with Izzy being scared, Bobby constantly wanting to eat, etc. We had fun with flashlights and made the best of the situation. We were packed up and ready to stay at my mom's when the power came back on at 4 on Saturday.

Sunday I finally started feeling better. We took a little walk and our friends Katie and Al and their little girl Annie came to meet Bobby. Silly me, I didn't get any pictures of the girls playing. Today, I decided it was time to let Izzy enjoy her summer and take a chance on going out with two kids solo besides a quick Target run. We met Anna and her little one Evan. Of course, I didn't get photos of them either. I think it might be harder to manage photos with two kids, especially hen one is napping in the stroller and the other one is running in the water. Izzy had a blast and we came home just in time for Naptime! Ahhh it was so nice and we didnt have any timeouts today. Everyone was a winner!
Fun with flashlights!

Melts my heart...

Bobby's first bottle to give me some relief from mastitis.

My baking assistant this morning, helping me make banana bread.

Do you think she had fun at the splash pad?

Me and my Bubba!

This is what happens when I go get her more water for her pool, pajamas are the new swimming suit I guess?

1 week old (and a day)

Bobby is officially just over a week old, crazy how fast that went. It scares me that I will blink and he will be starting daycare. I am starting to panic about daycare since he will only be 10 weeks old! :( Just a little peanut with a bunch of big toddlers! We had his check up today, he is doing so well! He is growing and gaining weight, something we aren't used to with Izzy! If he keeps this trend up, he'll be bigger than Izzy before he is one! We go back in a few weeks to get his hips checked, as they were a little loose. She is hoping they will tighten up and he won't need a brace for hip dysphasia. She was a little worried about he not having his whooping cough vaccine before our trip to Hawaii, but gave us some tips to help keep him away from people haha.

Here are some stats:
Weight: 8lbs 2 oz (43rd percentile!!)
Length: 20.5 inches (60th percentile)
Head: 36.6 cm (53rd percentile)

Apparently he shrunk! They said the hospital measurements aren't always accurate. The highest weight percentile izzy ever got was 25th and that was at her one week, then it slowly went down from there, we shall see his trend!

Big boy slept in his crib last night but need a little more rocking and snuggles to stay asleep than expected so another long night. Izzy is at daycare today, Bobby and I are off to get my haircut quick and look for an outfit to wear for our pictures on Friday!

It was past someone's bedtime...
In typical Izzy fashion, she really wanted to dance when the concert was over!

Day 1 & 2

Well we are all making the transition, it isn't always easy trying to juggle two kids  on your own during the day. I don't know how I thought I was busy with one child! Managing a newborn and a testing two year old isnt always easy. The hardest part is remembering that our poor little girl has basically had to grow up overnight. She is two and is testing and would be testing even without Bobby's arrival, but I find myself expecting so much more of her now that I am preoccupied with Bobby. She has taken it like a champ for the most part. :) I know such is life and this is just one of the many lessons she'll learn about how life isn't fair and isn't all about her, but it sometimes breaks my heart when I see her being naughty and even telling me, "I naughty!" and it is usually when Bobby is getting the attention. It is hard to make a fresh two year old understand that it will just be a little longer before brother is done eating before I can help you or truly give you my attention. Mommy guilt hits often and she definitely knows how to pull at your heart strings. I have no doubt that we will both be all smiles tomorrow when I pick her up from daycare! Bobby has his one week apt tomorrow and we are going to run some errands while Izzy gets to play with her buddies. I am hoping as each day goes on, I will adjust to the lack of sleep that Bobby is causing me and that Izzy will forget that there was life before baby brother. :)

She is in love with her brother and always wants to "I hold it!" (She won't say him), and "I see Bobby!" or asking "Where'd Bobby go?" She is a great big sister and wants to be a part of his every move. She pulls a chair around upstairs to be able to watch me change his diaper, bath him, put him in his crib, etc. He gets slobbery kisses and full body hugs at least twenty times a day. She is the best consoler and loves to help him get his nuk in his mouth and help burp him. She definitely has the motherly instinct and has made me so proud to see how well she is handling the big change. It makes me happy that her naughty moments are not being taken out on Bobby and aren't anything major like hitting, pushing, or kicking, she is just not listening to little things I ask her to do.   We have had a busy two days, but I know it can only get easier once Bobby has more of a routine, I have adjusted to my new sleep patterns, and once I have had a little more time to heal so we can do more.
We took a long walk and went to the park to start our day.

Big sister showing off for her little brother

Bobby mostly just slept! :)

Swinging!

Tummy time and singing to brother

Playing with the bubble gun Emily got her!

Izzy decided to wait for daddy to get home from work in her stroller in the garage.

Izzy thought it was funny that Bobby was in her bed.

Bobby was bright eyed and ready for his first of many Target runs!

Izzy loved feeling like a big girl in the big cart!

 A true sign of summer!

Our little, old man!

Feeling blessed even after a rough day with a testing two year old. :)

Happy Daddy's day Pat

And so it begins....Bobby makes the same grunting noise when he is making number two as Izzy did as a baby.  Izzy finds it hilarious, "Bobby, noises, uuuummmm!" Now when she poops, she makes the same noise. The home nurse came to check in on Bobby and I and Izzy started making the grunting noises and she asked, "what are you doing?" Izzy replied, "I am pooping!" Bobby will probably outweigh Izzy tomorrow at this rate. He weighed  7lbs 14 oz at birth and when we left the hospital he was 7lbs 6oz, today he weighed 7lbs 9oz. The nurse was impressed since they are normally the same weight as when they left the hospital.  We shall see what he weighs on Wednesday at his one week check up.

I can't even tell you what an amazing husband and dad Pat has been!  He is constantly keeping Izzy occupied and helping me, feeding me, keeping me hydrated, etc. He has so supportive and insistent that I take it easy Even when I try to push myself too far. I am so grateful! I am also nervous for Monday to come and he has to go back to work.
Keeping Izzy entertained while trying to keep Bobby hydrated will be hard.

Comparison of the two at the same age in their swing. They have similarities, but differences as all. It will be interesting to see how he changes and what color his eyes will be.

Tummy time fun!

Izzy took her job of showing Bobby how to lay on his tummy very seriously!

We took Izzy to get her haircut on Friday to get us out for a little bit. I think she liked it! :) Super proud!
