Photo dump

Life has been a little crazy since going back to work to day the least. I haven't been blogging, but have been taking pictures still. Here is a photo dump from the last few weeks. I finally took Bobby's 3 month photos and hope to post those before he is 4 months old!
We got Izzy's haircut tonight and they did a fun braid with some spray glitter! Izzy was in heaven.

Craziness

Life is, to put it lightly, insanely crazy lately! Sleep seems like a thing of the past and a privilege, not a right at our house anymore. It is amazing we are still standing at the end of each day really. Going back to work is emotional enough, but with little sleep, you feel like you could come untangled at any moment. But, I wouldn't trade it for anything. As tired as I am at 3am with Bobby, I smile at the extra snuggles and kisses I get that I would otherwise miss during the day or after work when Izzy needs more attention. The last few nights have been pretty rough, with Bobby waking multiple times in the night and Izzy waking at least once due to a cough from daycare. Mix that will any energy I have left going to a room full of Kindergarteners and I am shocked that I am somewhat functioning by 4pm each day! I have thought numerous times about throwing in the towel recently and telling my boss I need maternity leave because I feel like at some point this will all catch up with me, but I have a new partner teacher who needs me to help her out and a room full of new kinders that need me to show them the ropes of school. I keep reminding myself that it will get better and Bobby will start to get on more of a schedule soon. Pat has been AMAZING!! He forces me to go to bed even if it is 8:30 and I try to refuse, but I am so thankful come 1:30 when Bobby first starts to stir and Pat jumps out of bed without being asked and rocks him back to sleep. Then, if we are lucky, he will go back down until 2:30-3 when I will feed him. However, if we are unlucky, he will wake again at 1:45-2 and the vicious three hour cycle starts, forcing me to wake multiple times instead of just once before getting up for the day. I know we will all adjust to the schedule soon, but until then, we will be walking zombies. I am just so thankful that my class full of kindergarteners motivates me and that I can still function enough to do my job! I don't know how people can go back to work after 6-8 weeks, I can barely function 10-11 weeks after having a baby. We are embracing the craziness that is our lives because I am sure when it all slows down, we will miss it. However, more sleep sounds amazing right now!

Izzy and Bobby have had a few off days at daycare this week, which makes our nights even harder. I come home and have to mentally gear up to have enough energy to give my kids the love and attention they need and deserve after being away from us all day, but I find my patience is down to nearly nothing after a long day.  The dang mommy guilt comes back to haunt me. On Wednesday, Bobby was fussy at daycare, didn't want to eat much or sleep and Izzy had a lot of timeouts for not listening. When we got home, we had a talk with Izzy and she admitted, "I naughty outside, mommy!" She went on to tell me how it makes "mommy, daddy, Debbie, and Tori so sad" when she is naughty and "I listen, mommy!" She made a picture for them and brought it to daycare Thursday. Thank goodness both kids had better days yesterday! Both napped well, ate well, were happy, and were listening with no time outs!

We decided to stop at the new Yogurt shop in SLP as a family last night! Izzy picked out brownie ice cream and of course, loved to twist the lever to add sprinkles and M&Ms to her yogurt! We also made a pitstop at my school since I forgot the milk I pumped there for Bobby. Izzy loved it!! She tried on a costume right away and when we left told me, "I like Mommy's school! I go Mommy's school?" Pat laughed at me when I told her she will come to Mommy's school in three years!

Love this little bugger! He has found his hands and LOVES his tag blanket!

Can't leave the house without her froggy potty!

Pretty proud of her choices!

N
Not sure she got any yogurt in her mouth. :)

So proud!

Making herself at home. "I go Mommy's school again!?"

Yes...it is finally Friday! I don't want to blink or I will miss the weekend!

Labor Day Weekend Photos

We had a wonderful family weekend, filled with lots of fun, good naps, and smiles. Today is Daddy's bday and mom's first day of school, so we tried to celebrate yesterday with a visit to the MN State Fair and Nana was nice enough to watch the kiddos so we could go to dinner. Happy birthday Pat!! We hope you have a wonderful day, you deserve it! Thanks for being the best husband and father a girl could ask for! You always put us first and know just how to make us all laugh and smile! Thanks for all you do for us. We love you!!

Izzy picked out the cookie and told them to write "happy birthday Daddy!" She then saw princess cupcakes and thought he needed those too, but we decided on just the cookie.

Nothing better than waking up to these two after a long week of workshops!

I told her we were going swimming tomorrow (Saturday) and she went right up and got changed. Someone was a little excited!
