Day Two

Today was day two of work and Camp Nana. Izzy had another wonderful day and even got to visit with Grammie! The days go fast thankfully and Izzy has been a sleeping machine, which has made it easier for me knowing I am not missing too much while away. Again, without my parents, there is no way I could possibly have gone back to work, we are so lucky!!

As I reflect on the last two days, I realize a few things:
1. People DO NOT give working mothers enough credit....holy cow it is tiring waking up early and not getting naps. And it is SO hard being awau from your little one all day!

2. Pumping at work is so not fun and very time consuming, but SO worth it.

3. It really is easier to run errands midday when most are at work. Target after work with a baby is just plain crazy. Oh how I miss feeling like a rebel playing hookie from work on our midday Target runs! Now I suffer with the rest of the world who need a few things, but it takes an hour between parking and the check out.

4. I took my afternoon naps for granted during pregnancy. I am trying to get adjusted to my school schedule, but realized there is no time for naps when you have kids. However, it is the best feeling in the world when I am exhausted and had a bad day and one smile from Izzy and it is all forgotten, it is the best!!

5. I miss always having Izzy with me. I find myself looking in my mirror for her, listening to her cd, or feeling like I am missing something.

6. There is nothing better than the feeling I get when I can race out of work to go pick her up and the feeling I get when I first see her. Scratch that, there is nothing better than being bored in meetings and getting a picture text from my mom of Izzy smiling. I cannot say how amazing it is and how much it puts me at ease knowing she is happy and in such good hands all day!

Kitchen helpers!

Izzy and Stella sat on the floor next to me and helped me in the kitchen tonight. Stella helped clean up messes while Izzy entertained me. Izzy and I made banana bread together, I talked her through the steps, she is bound to be a baker.

First day of camp Nana went really well. Izzy had a great time and even got cousin time. I, of course, was a wreck this morning, balling uncontrollably. I knew she would have a great time with Nana, I just knew I would miss her. Thankfully I got done early and rushed out the door to go and see her. A special thanks to my parents for watching her for us, I would have quit my job if I had to put her in daycare! It is so nice knowing she is with them being loved all day.

Bonus Giggles 2

A few hours later and she finally figured out how to get a belly laugh out! Best part, I filmed her doing it and then replayed it for her and she started giggling even harder, which is where this video came into play. I went from laughing hysterically with her to tears thinking about missing moments like this while at work....Get over it, Tiffany, I know! I will have afternoons, evenings, weekends, holidays, and summers, I will get the best of both worlds!

Starting to Giggle

I love our girl so much!! She gets more amazing each day! I am so sad to have to go back to work, but will so look forward to when 3pm hits and I can race to Nana and Papa's house to see her again and be greeted with her big smiles! She has started to figure out how to giggle, she gives us a little more each day. She also rolled over on Tuesday, that video will come tomorrow! I am hoping I can keep up with this blog when I go back to work, that is the goal! :)

Jumperoo

Izzy is still a little too small for her jumperoo, but I put her in it just to see what she thought of it with some blankets to prop her up. She loved it and loved eating the seat too. I cant wait until she is big enough for it, I know she will love it even more.

Full circle

Izzy and I had visitors. I used to nanny for Elizabeth and Hannah for eleven years and they are now watching the family that I watched for two summers before Izzy. It was so fun to catch up and see them all. It did make me feel a little old though. :)
