Happy Birthday Izzy!

Dearest Isabelle Grace,
You took what felt like FOREVER to get here, just eight days late, but the anticipation of meeting our perfect angel seemed like it took years for you to come. You were perfect from the start. You came out and barely whimpered, which scared me at first. Then you did your token pouty flipped lip and we knew you were OURS forever and that we were in trouble and would give you anything you wanted when we saw that look! :)

Words cannot describe the amount of joy and happiness you have brought us in one year. Our lives seemed great before, but we didn't know what we were missing. I don't know how we ever lived without you to be honest. You make our stresses and worries from our days go away the second we walk into the door and see you smile. You make all the bad in the world good with just one smile or by saying, "Mama or Dada".

You have made us so proud in what you have accomplished so far in life that we cannot even imagine what we'll feel when you graduate from high school, college, and start your own family. I am sure you'll bring us tears and some sadness along the way too, but for right now, that doesn't seem possible. You are ours, the best thing we have ever done in our lives. It is overwhelming the amount of love we have for you, true, unconditional love. You are the best gift we have ever been given and we hope we have made you proud too, as your parents. We cannot wait to continue to watch you grow, learn, and love life.

It has been an amazing year and to be honest, I have been dreading this day a little. I have been on the verge of crying all day at the thought of my little baby turning ONE! How did that happen? I swear just yesterday my water broke and we were rushing to the hospital and anxiously awaiting your arrival as you took your sweet, sweet time.

You have changed so much in one short year, just 366 days, (leap year) it is incredible. You learned how to roll over, crawl, pull yourself up on things, walk, and say some words. You also learned how to eat like a big girl and now you eat EVERYTHING in sight. You can say "Mama and Dada" and you seem like you are trying to say more and more each day. You continue to smile and laugh at almost everything. Your love for your parents and more importantly, your sister, Stella, is amazing. You smile and giggle the second you see Stella every morning. You love her and LOVE to try to feed her, which she loves you for.

You continue to be a good sleeper, although, have started to fight your afternoon naps. We are slowly trying to figure out how to get you to take them again. You have a total of SIX teeth, your newest tooth just poked through TODAY. Poor girl! You go to bed early, around 6:30 and wake up around 6:30 still and you still take your two naps each day. You are still a peanut, just 17.5lbs. and can wear clothing you wore last summer. Your favorite things to eat are blueberries, strawberries, Yogurt Drops, yogurt smoothies in your straw cup, spaghetti and meatballs, mac and cheese, and chicken sausage. Although, you'd eat anything, especially if we give it to you on a big person spoon. :) You love your whole milk in a sippy cup and are over bottles and your baby carseat.

Happy Birthday sweet baby girl. I know you'll continue to make us proud, make us laugh, and make time fly by entertaining us. Thank you for brighten our year and bringing us more joy than we ever imagined. It is amazing how much you have changed, but your personality has really stayed the same throughout this last year.

You were just a little peanut!!
Now you will barely sit still long enough for a picture because you want to walk everywhere.

Your love and obsession for Stella has not changed!

 Two cheeseballs!
Stella was bummed there was no treat involved this month.
Birthday kisses for Izzy from Stella!
Stella is wondering why you are always so happy. :)

Trying to grab my hands to help herself down to walk.

Mother's Day!

My day started with breakfast in bed with my favorite little girl thanks to the best husband/daddy! We played a lot and Izzy took a nice nap so I could get some sun on the deck. Then, we met my family for brunch and bowling. Izzy was spoiled with attention and lots of good food. She even tried watermelon and really loved it! It is weird to think that last year at this time I was ready to pop and impatiently waiting the arrival of our little girl. I was mowing the lawn hoping that would help induce labor, when that didn't work, I tried raspberry tea. Nothing, but she was so worth the wait. It is amazing how much of being a mother comes natural to women, but it also helps having amazing role models and mothers who modeled what true, unconditional love is and how to be a good parent, even when it means having to be a bad guy. I love you mom and thank you for helping me be the mother that I am. The only thing greater than having you as a mother is having you as my daughter's Nana! We love you so and thanks for everything. Thanks for the sacrifices, the tough love when I needed it, the advice, for always listening, for always being so selfless and putting us first, for putting up with the five of us and now our families, thanks for showing me how to face my problems head on, to be honest, and most importantly, thanks for giving me life And allowing me the opportunity to be a mom! I always knew you were amazing, but it wasn't until I became a mother that i truly realized how much you sacrificed for all of us, even the little things that WERE huge for us..... going through pregnancy and birth, waking up at all hours of the night for your little one, worrying every second of everyday about the well being of someone other than yourself, and truly, selflessly giving all of yourself for the unconditional love you have for your child. Thanks for always loving me, even when I was being a stinker and when I was in the nasty teenager stage of being mean just because I could. Thanks for not giving up on me And for pushing me to do more than I thought I could do in life. It is so fun now to compare notes and to enjoy you as not only my mother, but my friend! I love you, enjoy your day, with five kids, you have more than earned it!

Belated Birthday Wishes

Izzy is behind schedule by no fault of her own, but her mother. Life is crazy these days, as I know it is for everyone....we didn't forget Uncle Bill and Cousin Dan on their birthdays, we just didn't post! We hope you had wonderful birthdays!!

Side note... We are wondering when izzy is going to gain weight...her outfit in these pictures was a shower gift from my Aunt and Cousins from Gymboree that she barely got to wear last summer since they were too big. I was going through her clothes looking for something and found these and decided to see often fit. Sure enough 3-6 month outfits from Gap and Gymboree still fit our little peanut! At least she can wear them more this summer!

Here are a few more of Izzy with garden statues , hah! I think we are getting more teeth, which explains the fingers in the mouth while riding the pig. She loves to chew on her boo bio bunny to help too!
