Time flies....when you are 15 months!

Well we had her 15 month old apt today and found out the obvious, she is still a little peanut. However, she is growing, just on her own growth chart. As soon as we walked into the room, Izzy started grabbing my arm as hard as she could and was whining, she remembered being here last time and getting shots. It is amazing what they can remember at this age. She chatted up the doctor and played a little peek a boo with her too. Once the doctor had her lay on the table, Izzy started crying. When she was finished examining her, Izzy grabbed me and then pointed at the door for the doctor. haha Once the doctor opened the door to leave the room, Izzy stopped crying and started blowing her kisses....oh great, manipulation at its finest at age 15 months old. The doctor had a good laugh about it.

Here are her stats:
19.2 lbs (4th percentile)
30.25 inches long (45th percentile)
Head was 47.2 cm (85th percentile!)

I haven't been as good about keeping tabs on what she can do at each milestone so here it goes:

*Izzy is talking more and more each day and tries to mimic what we say all the time. Here are some words she is saying somewhat consistently:
dog
duck
beep (for cars in a high pitched voice)
 thk (thank you)
peas (please)
Uuuuuughp (up)
Dadda
Momma
Tell (Stella in a high pitched voice)
Oooaaff (off for Stella)
Sit
Ball
Keeey(Kiki in a high pitched voice)
I am sure there are more, but that is what comes to mind right now.

*She is started to do more word associations, so when I say milk she'll ask please, please, please until I give her the milk cup. If I try to give her something else, she'll get upset. She will also go get her "cellphone" and purse when I ask her to, tell Stella off if I ask her too, turn the lights off and say ooaaaff at the same time with a smirk.

*She is starting (and I mean starting) to interact with other kids. She has started to give them toys, smile when she sees them, and waves hi if we see them across a room. I can't wait to see how she flourishes when she is in daycare with 4 other kids her age.

*She will smile anytime she sees a camera or cellphone aimed her way.

*She will grab her cellphone or mine, put it by her ear and say HI!

*She is IN LOVE with the water, as long as it isn't too cold for her. We went to the pool on Monday and she had so much fun trying to run through the water and put her face in the fountains and get sprayed.

*She is getting really good at using her spoon and fork. If you don't put food on her fork, she'll try to use one hand to pick it up and the other hand to push her fork into it.

*She loves to throw the ball for Stella.

*She loves to run, climb, and jump! Nothing will slow her down.

*She is getting more and more teeth everyday. I think she now has 12, with 2 or more coming in on the other side.

*She will eat ANYTHING we put in front of her, as long as she isn't teething. She is still a great sleeper! We pushed her bedtime back to closer to 7-7:30 from vacation and she'll sleep until 7:15-7:30 most mornings.

*Her hair is getting longer and she may need a haircut pretty soon. She doesn't mind her pony or pigtails, but when she is tired, she likes to take them out.

*Her personality is shining through more and more each day. It is so fun to watch the change from being a baby to a full blown toddler. It makes us sad most days to sit and watch her figure out the world and gain even more independence from us. However, it is also fun to see how much she learns and takes in everyday.

Cheeseball eating a dinner roll last night at dinner!
Jumping, Jumping, Jumping on mommy's lap.
Being silly with Papa. She loves to put her sunglasses on and giggle.
Maniac, always busy, but always having fun!
"Oh, is that a camera? I should smile then!"
Hollywood! 15 months going on 13 years!

Birthday fun

Besides turning thirty, today was pretty great! Izzy and I headed to St Paul to meet Pat for lunch at one of my favorites, Blue Door Pub! On the way, we stopped at a bookstore for a really fun storytime. Izzy got a souvenir balloon that entertained her in the car. She had so much fun in St Paul that she crashed in the car. We came home to a wonderfully sweet surprise from Jackie, a bouquet of balloons and my favorite, 30 Reese's peanut butter cups! She tried for 30 balloons, but apparently you can only get 24 due to a helium shortage, who knew? I am thankful she was only able to get the nice bouquet that she got, even If it meant that the neighborhood knows how old I am now. :) Thank you for the thoughtful surprise!! We then went to dinner with my parents and my brother Tim's family since Nick and I share the same birthday! Happy birthday Nick! I think I consumed my quota of red meat for the year in one day! Thanks for a delicious meal mom and dAd!

Izzy turned 15 months today, another reason to celebrate! She LOVES to sit on ledges and steps, so we got her a chair on Craigslist to celebrate her independence! She is in love with it and will sit for longer than I have ever seen her sit still and smiles and laughs. She thinks she is big stuff! We go to the doctor tomorrow and will know her stats and I will update tomorrow on what she does now that she is getting older and becoming more of a toddler everyday! She tried on daddy's old glasses today and made me feel better about getting old. :)

Sand/rock bar

We found a fun little sand/Rock bar by the cabin on Friday and went back again on Saturday. Izzy loved being able to walk around and splash in the water. She also loved trying to eat rocks and throw rocks. Izzy had a blast with her cousins too! Back to reality...yuck! At least until we go back up with the Craigmiles in two weeks! :) Two more weeks until school starts, I am dreading it already, but know once we get into the swing of things, it will be okay.

And the fun continues...

The James clan made it here last night! Izzy was sad to see Kiki and George leave, but was happy to have cousin Matt's attention today, she think he is pretty funny. We went on a boat ride to the lodge today and izzy took a little swim, but didn't find it as refreshing as we did.

Wolf center

Izzy had fun at the wolf center with her cousins today. It hasn't changed much since we were kids, but was neat to see the wolves and the pups. Izzy likes the kids area.
