28 weeks

28 weeks...really? Wow, where has time gone? It is hard to believe that we will meet our little guy in 12 weeks! We still have so much to do before that! You can tell I haven't been feeling the best this week with the pictures, as well as the fact that my 8 looks terrible and I just didn't have the energy to redo it. My back has been acting up a lot and I find it hard to get comfortable. During the day, I am okay for the most part, I just have to sit down more than usual, but once I am home and lifting Izzy, it just gives in and says NO MORE. I spend my nights on my body pillow and a heating pad. :)

It seems Izzy is understanding more that she is going to be a big sister and that there is a baby in my belly. She has started kissing my belly, see the video below. She has also started loving her baby dolls, feeding them, wiping them, etc. She puts her blanket over them and puts them in her highchair to eat. She'll be a great big sister!

I found out I failed my first gestational diabetes test on Monday. I am having a hard time with it, mostly because last time when I failed, it was followed by kidney stones and surgery. It has caused me anxiety over all that came last time around. I am hoping after my THREE HOUR gestational diabetes test, that they'll rule out diabetes and I can go about my pregnancy as normal, especially since I have bad cravings for dark hot chocolate and blizzards. I go back in on the 28th for my next apt and the test, so we will see what happens.

Looking larger each day!

Izzy thinks she is a photographer, so I had to include her first picture using my phone.

Big day today....first ponytail!

Back view.

We had a blast at Nana's bday party! Izzy loved Kiki's big girl bed!

Izzy feeding her babies in her highchair. "Eat, eat, eat."

Playing cars with her cousins, she'll love having a brother.

Her new favorite thing to do, pick the lint out between her toes from her socks. "Dirty, dirty!"

She had a hard time falling asleep after the fun she had at Nana's party, so she had to have Daddy lay down with her.

"Ta-da" pretzel fingers.

Izzy has mastered the spoon! We let her feed herself yogurt now.

Updates + HB Nana!

Happy Birthday Nana! We hope you had a wonderful day!  We love you so! We are all lucky to have you in our lives and Izzy just loves her NANA! We are looking forward to celebrating with you tomorrow night. Izzy made you two videos, you'll have to click on the this link to be able to view them on the blog: http://thechristensenschaos.blogspot.com/

Oops. we didn't do a picture this week. I was going to do it tonight, but I am closer to 28 weeks at this point. I took my gestational diabetes test on Friday and am hoping to have the results tomorrow. I hope I pass the first time this pregnancy!

Pat's amazing masterpiece! He built the whole top portion this weekend. He has to add crown molding to the top of it. Then, we can start to fill it up. He is also going to add shelves and cabinet doors to the bottom.

Izzy watching her Daddy work in the garage.

Izzy is really starting to love her babies more and more. She put her baby in her highchair today and said, "Eat, eat, eat" and then put her bib on her baby.

Pigtails

Miss Izzy has been sporting pigtails lately to match her spunky personality! We have already had a busy weekend and Saturday isn't even over yet. Pat took Izzy with him to Menards and Lowe's this morning while I was at Yoga. I was very impressed that Daddy not only ventured out with Izzy so early, but he also had to let her walk and hold his hand, since he had to get a large cart to hold the wood he was buying and it didn't have a seat for Izzy to ride in. Needless to say, Miss Independent seemed to enjoy it. Then, our little helper played at home for awhile before running some more errands with mommy. We ran to the mall quick to pick up a few new maternity items for me, as this time around, I seem to be carrying lower and have found most of my clothes are uncomfortable. Izzy was super excited to try on some clothing for herself too and we got her the perfect Easter dress that she'll also wear for her baby brother's newborn photoshoot. We also got baby brother a little outfit too! Then, we met Nana and Auntie Heather and got to see what baby girl's room is going to look like, can't wait to see it all put together. Izzy was a trooper, but LOVES riding in her stroller and checking everyone and everything out, so I don't think she minded shopping.

Pat has been busy working on the basement, I'll try to post a photo of his progress tomorrow. He has done an amazing job, but one would expect nothing less from him. The way he can visualize all of this and make an idea turn out is very impressive. I love to have ideas, but could never imagine finding a way to get it done or even know where to begin working.

Cheese!
"HUGGGGGG!"

Blankies are obviously needed to go on the big girl potty. Miss Izzy was successful the other day, but surprised herself when doing so!

Miss Haddie came over to play, Izzy really wanted a self-portrait with her and grabbed my phone and said cheese.

"Don't smile!"

These two finger/hand suckers are going to be trouble soon. Thanks for coming Kari and Haddie.

Goofball in the morning before daycare.

"Wock, wock, wocking" in her/baby brother's new chair from Nana.

Clearly not suffering too much while shopping. As soon as we met Heather and Nana, she was greeted with a teddy bear and a cupcake.

She loves to hang upside down and will yell for Stella to come and kiss her.

Painting with shaving cream in the bath tonight. She LOVED it!

I don't think she'll mind having a brother and all the cars and trucks that he'll have. She has been kissing my stomach recently when I asked her to kiss baby brother, it is pretty cute!

Snow Day

Today I had an unexpected snow day. It was great! I decided to keep Izzy home with me today even though her daycare was still open. Let's just say we had a blast, but snow days are exhausting when you are pregnant and have a toddler running around. Mid-afternoon, I started not to feel the greatest, so it made it a little harder to keep up with our Princess. :) I do believe Izzy had a great day though! We still managed to do some arts and crafts, play dress up, play with her toys, play in the snow, and play in her room with Stella.

She LOVED being outside. She would go up to the snowbanks, try to knock them over with her mittens, and then eat the snow.

It was pretty, but it is March so I am okay if this is the last snowfall of the year. :)

This shows you how deep it was, Stella would jump into the snow and you could barely see her head.

We tried out some new art supplies today, Izzy thought Bingo Daubers were pretty fun.

Watercolors were pretty cool too.

I organized Izzy's dress up clothes on hangers while Izzy played with the purses.

Izzy was talking to her reflection in the fireplace.

She was an eating machine today, her favorite was cottage cheese with pomegranate seeds. Her "dessert" tonight was butter with a side of crackers. ;)
Even after she had eaten a ton for her breakfast, she had to come steal some of my cereal.

The bag lady, we are hoping she won't have a love for cats too.

Checking out Daddy's handiwork on the desk in the basement.

Eating sour cream out of the container while mommy was finishing up dinner.

Izzy was in awe of Daddy snowplowing this morning.

This was Izzy's choice of an outfit for our trip to Target for groceries on Sunday.

Trying out some new pinterest inspired Toddler Hairstyles.

Being silly in her big girl bed with Daddy.

Taking an evening walk with Daddy and Stella.

Oh you know, just using a putter as a walking stick and wearing her "packpack" to go up the stairs.

Silly Girl...

Have I mentioned how much I dislike winter? Izzy and I both agree, it is time for Spring. We have had a few days that have shown glimpses of spring, but we still have snow and there is talks of snow this week. I think both Izzy and I get a little stir crazy in the winter. Yesterday, we took a little stroll with our glasses on since the sun was out, but there was a little wind that was deceiving so we didn't make it too far.

Waiting for the real sun!

Trying to eat "big girl cereal".

Pat was in the basement and told me he was watching her while I ran upstairs, I came down into the entryway to find this. I made him come look, he didn't know how she got in there. We have quite the climber on our hands these days! She'll climb into her highchair on her own now and just start saying, "eat, eat, eat" when she is hungry.

Izzy's first pair of Tom shoes! We have a little room to grow, but hopefully come summer, they'll be perfect.

If you tell her not to smile, you get a big one from her now!

Someone went down for her nap and then I heard some movement, then it stopped. I didn't turn on the monitor until a little while later and found Izzy sleeping in her rocking chair with some books. I guess she wanted to read herself some goodnight stories before bedtime.

"Izzy, don't smile!"
